Al-Tariq Linton was born and raised in Newark, NJ. Acting has always been his childhood dream but he developed a deeper passion for it when he took his first acting class in high school. Shortly after, he was casted as the supporting character for two of his high school plays, That Work and Thriller directed by Sean Moton. After graduating high school, Al-Tariq has taken up serval acting classes and was a background actor in the Netflix show HAPPY!. Currently, Al-Tariq is not only pursuing his career as an actor, but he is also a content creator and a video editor. He is grateful for his family and friends who has always supported and believed in him. He would also like to thank Lions Vision Productions, LLC for giving him this amazing opportunity of being apart of their short film, CONFLICTED. ****** MARCUS is a rising star and his mother’s pride and joy. He’s the first in his family to graduate college. He has dreams of being a rapper and he’s well on his way. He’s a hood celebrity, who loves attention. After recently signing a record deal with Rap Nation, he’s a BIG DEAL. However, when the environment, peer pressure and impulsivity takes over he finds himself making a life changing decision that lands him at the bottom of the gutter — literally. He blames one person. Haneef Jones is an upcoming actor from Newark, New Jersey. Haneef first role was in a film called “Jersey” where his talents shined bright. He has a rare talent to take on a range of intriguing roles. He began acting after attending college.
****** Kevin is Marcus’ wayward, street, brother who has a love / hate relationship with his brothers success. His brother Marcus is on the verge of achieving his dreams and Kevin is jealous. On Marcus’ graduation night Kevin takes him out. That night changes both their lives in more ways than one. Kirk Charles is on a mission to get American healthy, one step at a time. He has been a NASM Certified Personal Trainer for more than 10 years and has conducted more than 12,000 individual and group personal training sessions. Kirk also credits more than 30 years of plant-based eating as key to his success.
Kirk focuses on the more mature generation for his training and coaching sessions and created the Fit Beyond 40 concept to educate and inspire his followers. He has spoken at major corporations and has appeared numerous times on SiriusXM Urban View as a guest on the topics of nutrition and fitness. Kirk is a weekly columnist for Men's Health, the largest men's publication in the world, with a circulation of more the 1.8 million. He is also a weekly columnist for TheHub.News, focusing on plant-based eating and health related issues for the African-American Community. With all of his responsibilities, Kirk finds time to do fitness modeling and commercial acting. His image and likeness has appeared in commercials for ESPN and State Farm. ****** Mr. Smith, is a OG Hustler, turned Drug Counselor. He’s the cool Ex-drug dealer who did a bid and turned his life around. He’s respected in the neighborhood and the young guys look up to him. He always has words of wisdom and tries his best to talk to the young guys. However, he has a special interest in Marcus that motivates his extra efforts |
Karen Stanford has appeared in several drama productions, feature and short films. Her most recent role was as Mrs. Katzen in “Do Your Best”. She also played a supporting role in the short film, “Black Writer’s Room.” Karen started her acting career doing dramatical skits at her church, Bethany Baptist Church in Lindenwold, NJ. She has studied with Christine Horn of BMTV and currently with The Actors District with Tobi Gadison in Philadelphia, PA. Karen is a teacher who teaches students how to apply algebraic skills in their everyday lives. She is a wife, mother of 3 children and has one grandson that all have been a blessing to her life. She aspires to write and produce her own work one day in the future. Karen knows that whenever she is successful at anything it is a gift of grace from the hand of God because it is indeed Him that makes her successful.
****** Sharon Jackson is hard working single mother, of two adult boys, Marcus & Kevin. She had children young so she hasn’t made the best parental choices. She has a steady job as a Home Health Aid. However, Sharon is dissatisfied with her life’s choices, but she lives vicariously through Marcus’ success. For that reason, Marcus is her “pride and joy”. Kevin is envious of this relationship and harness animosity because of it. Sharon is aware of this and tries her best to warn Marcus of his brothers influence. She wants so desperately to shield Marcus, but she knows she can’t, because he looks up to his older brother. Perhaps, she’s shielding him from his brother, maybe himself or maybe her secrets. We’ll have to see what Sharon has been keeping from everyone because apparently she has her own skeletons. Ralph Mackensie (one name) is a first generation Haitian American, the first of his mother's five children. He carries his family and Haitian culture close to his heart and makes sure to display the culture with respect and honor. Born in Stamford, CT and raised in Spring Valley, NY Rockland county has always been the place he calls home. He strives to be a representation for Rockland county youth to see and know anything is possible with commitment and hard work. His journey as an artist has always been about finding the truth in the art to be the conduit to express the art to the world. Making his debut with Lion Vision Production, Ralph Mackensie has studied Stanslavski at Long Island University and Meisner at Matthew Corozine Studio in New York City. Throughout his journeys as an artist Ralph Mackensie has been a part of stage production COPSE in the Mid Town Winter Festival in New York City, NY , the role of Todd in the play 9/11, and a background extra on many hit TV series such as POWER on Starz.
****** Rod is Marcus’ best friend who he considers his brother (he thought). Rod and Marcus are a lot alike, neither real street guys, but cool in the neighborhood. Rod is confident in who he is and Marcus is still searching. Rod graduated with Marcus. He always has Marcus’ back and he’s the ‘one’ who keeps it real with Marcus. However, he can’t save Marcus from himself. When their relationship is tested he takes as much as he can, but a rude awakening makes him rethink his loyalty to Marcus. He has been a brother to Marcus, but when Marcus makes a choice, he also makes one too Lacee Harper is a trained beginner actor who plays Tracey. She is originally from Baltimore, Maryland and is an alumni of Syracuse University. She has been trained by Capital Coaching Studios and McKinnon Acting Studio. The Conflicted Trilogy will be Lacee’s debut film.
****** Tracey is the Ex- Girlfriend of Kevin. They have a son together, but she’s basically a single parent. She loves Kevin, but not his ways. She’ll have to decide whats her limit, what’s more important and for whom. |
